Size Matters’ One Year Anniversary!!!

Of course Winter Quarter would start for me this week and turn me into a studying hermit!

I’ve been meaning to get this post out before it got to February, or I’d really look like a slacker.

It was a whole year ago this month that I started this blog *applause*!! I’m mostly amazed that I could stick with it for a whole year. I can be really bad about not finishing what I started. Not that I’m finishing here, but you get the picture. *oh! shiny!*

OMG ribbons

Most of all I’m REALLY thankful for you guys (and gals… mostly gals). If no one was reading and commenting on my posts none of this would matter.

It’s been great to chat and email with fellow big footed bloggers. I feel like with our collective voices, our goal of having more shoe manufacturers and retailers making/selling cool shoes in our size is slowly becoming a reality. I mean, heck!, even UNIF finally made a heel in a 12. It might have been a tad small but it’s still progress!
Big shout outs to my pals:

I wish I would have kept track of how many pairs I bought this year and how many I sold. I feel like I broke out even…. sort of… OK, maybe I gained a few new pairs. But I still managed to weed out the ones I no longer wear and they now belong to a better home.

Sorry, the deadline for the giveaway has passed. Thank you to those who entered.

With all this merriment, it’s time to attempt my first ever give away.
Bear with me, I’ve never done this before.

Remember the pair of Elizabeth wedges I got from ElevenUp Shoes? They’re too wide  for me, so I wanted to offer them up to you. (The insoles measure 11 inches but they run wide)
Sadly, this makes entering the contest a little limited :(  but we’ll see how it goes.

  • SO, if you’re a women’s size 12 or a 12 wide (or MAYBE even a 13) feel free to enter.
  • Please leave a comment on this post and let me know what was you favorite pair of shoes you bought in 2012.
  • I’ll be picking the winner at random.
  • Right now I can only offer this contest to people the USA (sorry).
  • I’ll choose the winner in one week (Jan 17th)

Thank you again for your support :D

    Hey Leah,
Congrats on a year of awesome blogging – I’ve really loved keeping up with your adventures in the world of shoes.
And I have just died with envy at seeing your Marni shoes. They are AMAZING.
Just out of interest, what’s your size in Euro sizes?
Pity I can’t enter this comp. Dang oceans getting in the way :)
Keep it up – you’re ace.

Aww. Thanks!. I’m sorry about the US limitations :( I jus can’t afford the shipping right now. I bet it would cost more than the shoes themselves, lol.

EU sizing is weird for me. I think I’m like a 42 or sometimes a 45. It’s never consistent. Or maybe I’m getting IT and EU sizing mixed up?

    Hi Leah!

I LOVE your blog. I’m a size 12, nearly 13, and always have a hard time finding awesome shoes. Thanks to you, that’s not a major problem anymore!

My favorite shoe find in 2012 was by Diesel. They were a size 11, but I scored them for a low enough price to take a risk. They fit perfectly. 4 inch heel, single ankle strap, with a vintage feel.

Thanks again for all your posts and advice!

    Rina
